I'm not in the pizza but I know some good old marketing that works. I started selling life insurance for Mass Mutual about 12 years ago. ( Life Insurance is the hardest product in the world to sell!! )
When I first got started I had no idea what I was doing. I was door knocking and selling insurance. That is the hardest way to sell insurance. Then I started putting out door hangers like crazy. They seemed to work out pretty well for me. I put out door hangers about 4 hours per day to start. It really helped me make it in the life insurance biz. I am now a well established financial planner and those life insurance days are behind me as is a car load of door hangers.
If I was starting a pizza restaurant, I'd be putting out door hangers like a mad man. If you can make it selling insurance with door hangers you can sell pizza like crazy with door hangers. I know for a fact in my first two years I put out well over 1,000,000 all over Dallas Texas for life insurance. I lead the Dallas Mass Mutual office in life insurance policies every years I was there. We had over 35 agents. I was always number one with number of life insurance policies sold in the Dallas agency. The reason why was door hangers.
You can get 10,000 door hangers for $300.00, That is very low cost and a wonderful way to get your name out in your city or town! Now putting out door hangers is hard work, but it works. Anything worth having is worth working for.
